State Bar Moves Swearing-In Ceremony
Protest To Continue As Scheduled
September 1, 2009 - San Francisco
The CA State Bar has moved the Swearing-In Ceremony from the Manchester to the
nearby Marriott Hotel!
The State Bar’s decision to move the ceremony from
the Manchester to the Marriott does not alter BALIF’s plans to protest at the
Annual Meeting on September 12, 2009. Simply moving this meeting 30 feet from
the Manchester is not enough.
The State Bar can remedy the situation,
and send a clear message to its members that it will fulfill its mission
statement, by declining to do further business with an individual who
substantially helped to pass an unjust and discriminatory proposition – the
State Bar must move all Annual Meetings, in 2011 and beyond, away from the
Manchester Grand Hyatt.
